Very astute, Laura, although I'm going to have to deduct a point for displaying a photo of a man wearing brown shoes with a blue suit. It's one thing to describe the shortcomings of the latest generation but you don't have to show it!
Social media eats the Next Generation...which was served up on a platter by by unserious parents and, at least here in the U.S., a seriously ineffectual education system. And by "ineffectual" I mean actively malevolent.
And the less the silly-assed little prats know, the more they think they know. You're welcome, Hamas.
As an aside, this illustrates why I don't have a "smart" phone -- I simply can't afford to be any more stupid than I already am.
Yes much of this is true. That is amazing you do not have a smart phone. As I said before I have to have one as all the kids have watts app groups on it - school apps - etc, so I need it. But you can barely park a car these days without a smart phone. But I like to think my use is limited considering the job.
You raise an interesting point that people talk freely about the terrible aspects of motherhood is these days. I am childless and not through choice(!) but I vividly remember conversations about vaginas splitting down to the anus, mastitis, out of body experiences from the pain... in a more reserved era young women wouldn't have heard this.
It's true mobile phones and social media do actually suck your brains out so you have no mind to put to reading or talking to people.
I see a lot of Gen z at my gym so keeping fit and healthy is important to them and most of them try to consume ethically so all is not lost.
Some of the polls also seem to indicate that this generation of Tik Tokkers are increasingly becoming supporters of Reform, especially the men so we just have to work on their reading.
Excellent article Laura. I find another thing that the current younger generations are poor at investing money and living frugally.

See my post "The Illiterati" on a similar subject. Sorry, don't know how to link to it!

This is great Laura.

Yes, I like the healthy and non drinking thing. But then they almost turn their bodies into idols. It is a fine line.
