I think you are right Laura, there is a deeply sinister elitism underlying the "countryside is racist" sentiment. The attempt to position themselves as superior as the arbitar of civic relations with the intonation that the racism is perpetrated by whites is scientific racism in itself.

Notice the difference between the positive and embracing message of "the countryside is nonjudgmental and open to all since its wonders benefits all" compared to negative and foreboding message that "the countryside is racist and judgemental and might be a dangerous experience".

Yes, but damn the N.T., it is irredeemable. Just get out into our beautiful countryside and enjoy its glories.
