Ireland is a country where elected politicians think flying the tri-colour is a problem and the media will gaslight you into thinking it is a ‘symbol of the far – right.’
It was another busy week as Presidential nominations closed in Ireland.
Over at Gript I argued that there are a fair few extremists in the Irish establishment. I said:
“As I said before it is bad enough that Charlie Kirk was assassinated in life but to compound the wrong most of the Irish media then engaged in a character assassination of the man in death. This is a country where elected politicians think flying the tri-colour is a problem, where the media will gaslight you into thinking that the tri-colour is a ‘symbol of the far – right.’ This is a country where the premier entertainment programme will take time to support an American talk show host who was fired for gross misconduct (now reinstated) and treat him as some kind of free speech martyr while ignoring completely the brutal killing of a young conservative in the act of debating.
This is a country where the Taoiseach himself will label the phrase ‘Ireland for the Irish’ as incitement to hatred. Not just that it is a wrong argument but that it is ‘incitement to hatred.’ That turns ordinary Irish people into criminals.
This is the Irish media, academic and political establishment. They are ruthlessly conformist and enforce their extreme views on the ordinary Irish person relentlessly. They have turned Ireland into an outpost of the most extreme part of the Democrat party. And they are pumping this stuff out, day in and day out. Do not think it is normal.”
It is worth reading in full.
On Thursday I threw all my toys out of the pram over my friend Maria Steen not getting on the Presidential ticket in Ireland.
I argued that I was not going to have my vote taken for granted and that voting for Labour candidate Catherine Connolly may not be the disaster some conservatives would have you believe. I said:
“I tell you now, getting Benjamin Netanyahu on the blower and saying “listen here Heather Humphreys is the new President of Ireland” is not going to bring this war to an end. Neither, might I add, is some mass boycott of Domestos. But I understand your outrage – you do you.
“Was Connolly the one running around calling anyone who dared protest government policy, that’s FF and FG now, of plonking IPAS centres in the middle of some village, as fascist and far – right? I don’t think so. Did Connolly label the phrase ‘Ireland for the Irish” as incitement to violence? No, that again was our ‘moderate’ Taoiseach Micheál Martin.
Did Catherine Connolly support that last ludicrous referendum that sought to erase mother and family from the Irish constitution? Nope. Heather Humphreys tried to push that through for FG and again our dear leader Micheál Martin went head to head with Maria Steen over it on Prime Time and made a total tit of himself. He has since gotten his revenge, which shows just how petty he is. You know if Catherine Connolly doesn’t like you for your orthodox Catholic views, I reckon she will tell you that to your face. The lads though, the three musketeers, will pretend to not hold your mass – going against you but label you toxic behind your back. No thanks.”
If you have an hour over the weekend this podcast is worth a watch.
We had a great political success in the Perrins house - my year old was elected to her student council after a tough election. As you know 5th class is a tricky constituency but she had her song and home made banner ready. I couldn’t be prouder.
Have a great weekend!
Last year when Bibi Netanyahu spoke at the UN’s annual gathering for world leaders the Irish diplomats present stayed in their seats and listened.
Cue outraged letters in the Irish Times and Irish Independent and moaning on RTE shows.
Yesterday, just as Netanyahu was ready to take the stage the Irish diplomats walked out in the company of representatives of misogynists and antisemites like Iran, Saudi, Pakistan etc .
That’s how far Ireland has fallen. Every day is now “kick the Jew boy, Seamus”.
And what’s the point of the UN when it behaves like a students’ union once a Jew is about the place?
If they don't like us flying the Irish flag, then we should all copy kneecap and wear tricolour balaclavas. They can't criticise us then, or they would have to criticise the saintly kneecap as well.
