The sad demise of Eurovision
Turn it off
Last week on Twitter a clip was doing the rounds of a priest dropping some truth bombs about Ireland’s latest Eurovision entry, a one ‘Bambie Tramp’ performing Doomsday Blue.

Bambie was selected earlier this month to represent Ireland at this year’s Eurovision Song Contest in Malmo in Sweden with their song Doomsday Blue. But not everyone was happy with Ireland sending the Cork non-binary artist.
At Sunday mass, Father Declan McInerney, parish priest of Eyrecourt, Clonfert and Meelick in Galway, hit out at Bambie Thug, saying: “the poor divil can neither sing nor dance”.
Speaking to the congregation at mass, Father McInerney said: “Now brace yourselves my friends for this one, I switched on and to discover it was the selection process for Eurosong, a song that will leave Ireland that will represent Ireland and the Irish people and what we are all about my friends.

Father McInerney declared “And all I can say is we are finished.”
Father also said, “I know people will say that lad is old fashioned, but what was wrong with Dana and All Kinds Of Everything. What was wrong with Johnny Logan and Hold Me Now? What was wrong with poor aul Linda Martin who was trampled twice over to win the Eurovision with Why Me?
“Well I find myself this morning asking myself why me? Why am I having to mention this? I think, my friends, that as parents especially, and I'm going to say it again, will you shelter them a little bit more.
“They're exposed to too much at too young of an age. And they were certainly exposed to this on Friday night.”
“So I'm afraid my friends, I won't be booking any ticket to Malmo in Sweden this year. And whatever Bambie votes she gets. I wish her well,” he added.
Honestly, everyone should print Father Declan McInerney’s homily out in full and nail it to the church doors from here to Whittenburg. I have long stopped watching Eurovision as it is totally and utterly unsuitable for children. And that’s the point. It was light family entertainment that has been taken over by the debased and debauched and ruined for family viewing.
English readers may not care but if you are Irish and of my age then Eurovision holds a special place in your heart. Ireland won it about three or four times on the trot when I was growing up and it also gave us Riverdance.
Now you might think Riverdance is a bit naff, but I can tell you I remember the time and place I saw Michael Flatley tap his way across the Point Theatre in 1994. Every Irish person alive does. We watched utterly transfixed as Irish dancing became very, very fashionable literally overnight.
Anyway, I can’t remember exactly what happened in the 30 years in between but I wouldn’t let my kids within 10 miles of Eurovision today.
So this year Ireland is sending a one Bambie Thug, who is nonbinary. Of course she is. This means that we all have to take seriously the fact that the mainstream media will refer to this entertainer as ‘they’ even though she is a single person.
Well, saying you are gender non-binary merely means you don’t conform to gender stereotypes. Good for you, there were plenty before you who didn’t conform to that and there will be plenty after. It does not mean you get to remake the rules of English grammar. You don’t get your own pronouns anymore that I get my own adjectives. Just call me Fabulous.
Anyway, it is not Ms Thug that I am here to criticise. She is a young person just starting out. It is just the fact that you just knew that this person would be put forward to represent Modern Ireland.
Father McInerney asked ‘but what was wrong with Dana and All Kinds of Everything. What was wrong with Johnny Logan and Hold Me Now? What was wrong with poor aul Linda Martin who was trampled twice over to win the Eurovision with Why Me?’
Poor Father McInerney has not received The Message, about The Message. Those singers had talent. They were just ordinary entertainers who liked music. But Bambi Thug is a political choice – she can push The Message of Transgenderism. This why she was picked to represent Ireland. It has absolutely nothing to do with music, anymore than Hollywood films have anything to do with storytelling or entertainment. It is always, always about The Message.
In fact, having brought myself to watch Bambie Thug and Doomsday Blue on Youtube, it turns out the non-binary issue is the least of the problems with Ireland’s entry. It is just a smokescreen to hide the fact that there are serious demonic lyrics and imagery being promoted.
It is totally and utterly unsuitable for children or indeed anyone who calls themselves Christian. The two backing singers are clearly in demonic form; their faces are covered in black and they have long black limbs and fingers. The lyrics do not hide the fact that it is the demonic that is being celebrated. The first verse is:
Avada Kedavra, I speak to destroy
The feelings I have, I cannot avoid
Through twisted tongues, a hex deployed on you
That all the pretties in your bed
Escape your hands and make you sad
And all of the things you wish you had, you lose
I don’t even like typing these words, as I take these things seriously. I had to google Avada Kedavra, which I am told is a curse from Harry Potter. “One of the three Unforgivable Curses outlawed under wizarding law, Avada Kedavra kills the victim on impact, instantaneously and painlessly, usually with a blinding flash of green light.” A hex is also a curse, which she wishes ‘deployed on you.’
Bambie Thug told The Irish Sun that their Eurovision entry was an attempt to “curse out” traumatising memories, including acts of sexual abuse throughout her life at the hands of someone she “called a friend.” We can all have immense sympathy for Bambie Thug but it is clear that there is a lot going on here.
Bambie has used the term "ouija-pop" to describe her music. In one interview she said she “pioneers our ancient Ireland and we were a pagan country before anything. I love the aesthetics of witchcraft, and I love the essence and message of it. It is your own religion, it is a personal freedom.” At about 7:50.
The entire Doomsday Blue act is promoting the demonic and should not be beamed into your family home under any circumstances. This is the kind of thing being promoted all the time in Ireland and if you dare object, they make out you are the evil one. It’s gaslighting in its most obvious form.
Bambie Thug and the lyrics of Doomsday Blue has been chosen because it would annoy all the right people – people like me, a Catholic, mother of four and the parish priest of Eyrecourt.
The fact that this “song” could even be shown on Irish TV let alone chosen as its entry demonstrates how desperate things are right now. And you just know it will probably win.
For now, we can only do what the priest advises; namely to shelter your children a bit more. So don’t watch Eurovision. Turn it off, it is talentless, Godless rubbish.

I fear you may be right Laura. If not winning it will be neck and neck with another 2 or 3 right up to the finish. But anyway, I wont be breaking my 20 year tradition of not watching it!
Although I can understand the dismay at this kind of performance with all its sick symbolism being so widely promoted, I recall feeling similar dismay for the German entry of 2023, 'Lord of the lost' with their song 'Blood & glitter'. And how did that turn out? Germany landed in last place. So, don't underestimate Eurovision audiences to acknowledge crap when they see it.
