Why subscribe?

I write this Substack about 5 times a week. Every morning you will receive a blog at 8:30 am exactly that will greatly improve your day.

This website covers Irish and British news and culture from a West Brit angle. West Brit? That’s me - an Irish and English qualified barrister and mother of 4. I grew up in Ireland and then lived in London for 20 years. I then returned to Ireland with my English husband and four children. As well as recognising the real cultural, political and social differences between Britain and Ireland I also discuss what unites us, what should be conserved, and ask why the ruling elites seem to betray us.

We have a shared Christian foundation, language, legal system based on the rule of law and common law. Above all I believe those who endure the windy and rainy British Isles are decent, hard working people with a strong sense of fair play.

We never skip a queue, whether it be Ballybunion or Bromley.
