It's bizarre that people have been claiming that Israel had no evidence that Iran would use nuclear weapons against it when Iran literally had a big, public countdown clock in their capital city showing when they were going to destroy Israel. Antisemitism rots the brain.
Keir Starmer isn't the first Labour Prime Minister since Tony Blair -- there was Gordon Brown. He wasn't elected, though. Agreed about the moribund woke/technocratic death cult. The fact that these measures have been debated and passed instead of more urgent legislation shows that the technocracy is totally out of ideas. Rearranging the deck chairs on the Titanic is the cliché that comes to mind.
"...I accept that you can oppose the Israeli war against Hamas in Gaza on some legitimate grounds including it being disproportionate..."
Disproportionate..?? DISPROPORTIONATE?
Was Hamas' attack on unarmed, defenceless civilians "proportionate"..?
IDF's actions in avoiding civilian casualties are a world standard - no other military in history has treated non-combatants half as fairly (especially, as we learned, many of these 'non-combatants' were complicit- or even involved in the mass rape and murder of unarmed Israelis)
Mr Netanyahu spelled out the solution to the regional problem: :...If Hamas lays down its weapons, there will be peace..."
He also explained reality: "...If Israel lays down its weapons, they will be annihilated..."
...and you suggest that IDF action is perhaps 'Disproportionate'..!
Laura didn’t suggest it was disproportionate. She stated that it was not inherently antisemitic for someone to argue that the Israeli action is disproportionate, notwithstanding that she did not agree with that argument.
So... a Ukrainian woman lives in a hotel near me. When she first came, she was all about the Trans - full steam ahead to become a man. But now she has a Muslim boyfriend, she's decided to become a Muslim, and the Trans stuff is gone out the back window. I'm not joking. I met her a while ago and she said; "Gordon, do you like my style?" (a hijab) and I said; "Surely it's not a style, it's a choice?" She said; "it's a style for me."
A dogged insistence on proportionate counter-violence doesn't make you an antisemite, but, where deterrence is concerned, it does make you an imbecile.
I am not saying it is disproportionate - just others are. And most people misunderstand it anyway. It must be proportionate to the threat - which from Hamas is near total. It is not a crude body count. If body counts were what mattered, the US would have one the war in Vietnam,.
As for Rory S, an over confident empty vessel, his only purpose is to confirm what ever he says - the opposite is 99 per cent plus more likely. See Lord KR 'I am the law, son of a tool' Starmer KC.
Lord Rory S for Prime Minister? Wow! Low flying pig, in-bound.
No actually I was going to say, they aren't ducks sadly. They were all seagulls and I said exactly what you would have said to my daughter - where are the ducks. No ducks and no geece.
Thanks Laura for mentioning the anti Israeli Trinity college Provost and board decision. As a TCD graduate and M.Phil I withdraw from support of TCD. I was there when Archbishop McQuaid banned Catholics residents in the ROI attending TCD. Did any other university in the world have this ban?

Thank you Daniel. How could I forget GB? Yes antisemitism makes you stupid.

Glad you had a nice day out and well done on taking out Rory Stewart !

Now there is an entire blog there for sure. This does not actually surprise me.

Yes. I didn't mean to imply that that was your position. I can't think of anyone less inclined to imbecility.
A sublime article about Rory S from Laura.
Gosh, I can still feel the deep cuts.

Thank you Andrew. I did enjoy it.
No, dear Laura, thank you.
Nice to see ducks in the Green. Normally they're completely outnumbered by pigeons and seagulls.
Is it an avian IPAS centre perhaps?
